Old Head of Kinsale/ Ballinspittle (full day)
Level: Intermediate, some hilly terrain (32km/20 miles)
Cycle out to the Old Head of Kinsale and enjoy stunning views along the coast of the Wild Atlantic Way. Zoom downhill (reward for all your hard work!) and then potter along Garretstown Beach. Stop for a beach nap here or if you're feeling active, rent a surf board from GTown Surf School and try to catch a few waves. Cycle back via Ballinspittle, stopping for a late lunch in Divas Cafe. Back on the road, look out for the grotto, home of the moving statue in the 1980s, before arriving back into Kinsale.
Courtmacsherry Bay (full day)
Level: Intermediate, flat terrain (36km/22 miles)
We'll meet you in Ballinspittle (15 minutes drive from Kinsale) with bikes, helmets etc. Follow the coast all the way to Courtmacsherry. First stop is long, sandy Coolmaine Beach, next is Timoleague Abbey. Enjoy lunch in The Golden Pheasant Cafe in Courtmacsherry before cycling back.
Explore Kinsale (half day).
Level: Beginner, some hilly terrain (12km/7 miles)
Explore the town - first head out to Charles Fort along the Scilly Way, then out to James Fort. If you are still going strong, continue along to Sandycove to see if you can spot the wild goats grazing on the island.
Old Head of Kinsale (half day)
Level: Intermediate, some hilly terrain (26km/16 miles)
Follow the R600 out to the Old Head of Kinsale for stunning views! This takes about 1 hour on the bike each way so there should be just enough time to explore Garretstown Beach while you're there.
Note: the road to Garretstown can be busy. We recommend you wear the high vis vest provided!
Garrettstown/Old Head of Kinsale (half day)
Level: Beginner (12km/7.5 miles) Downhill, flat.
Meet at the Signal Tower, Old Head of Kinsale, where we'll get you set up with bikes, helmets etc. Head downhill, along Garrettstown Beach, then out to Ballinspittle for an icecream. Return to Speckled Door (we'll shuttle you the 2 mins back uphill to your car!)
